Stand in Truth, Have Courage, and Flow!

Blessings Family!

This week’s Orisa Prayer and Meditation message came from the odu Ifa Irete Ogunda and told the story of Truth and Wickedness coming from the spiritual realm to earth from orun (the spiritual real). While Truth reigned supreme in orun, they had to contest to find out who would reign supreme on earth. As wickedness does, it tried to bury the Truth — and it did, for a moment — but, ultimately, Truth prevailed.

One of the biggest lessons from this story which we discussed during our Monday Morning Motivation is that sometimes adversity leads us into a quiet place where we can connect with the medicine that we need to help us along our path of destiny. It’s not always about running around doing this and that ritual, buying this or that thing, or asking this or that person what we should do. Sometimes, the best thing we can do is lay down, relax our minds, and allow things to come to us as they are meant. What’s done in the dark truly does come to light when we give it time, so as tempting as it may be to try and take matters into our own hands, we have to remember that suuru ni baba iwa (patience is the father of character) and that character is what we seek first. So be patient and stand in truth!

Another important lesson from this story is that truth and lies, goodness and wickedness, construction and destruction have always been and will always be in contest with one another. As the Yoruba prover tells us, tibi tire la da ile aiye (loss and gain make the world), so no matter who we are, no matter how powerful we are, no matter how much anointing we have, there will always be challenges. The key is to be able to listen to our ori (inner consciousness and intuition) and to also to heed the wise counsel of Ifa and our other divination systems to find solutions to those challenges.

Our message of the week from the Remy Ma card in the Hip-Hop Queens Oracle Deck echoes this lesson as it reminds us that we can overcome adversity in our lives and come out on top, if only we’re courageous enough to put past hurts behind us and step out on faith. It also reminds us that skill and talent are undeniable, so one of the best things we can do for ourselves is continue to hone our crafts even when we find ourselves in less than ideal circumstances. G’head and look Remy up if you’re not familiar with her story and how it exemplifies this.

Crystal ally of the week, selenite, helps us stay fresh and clean as it is the embodiment of flow. Selenite is one of my go to crystals that I keep EVERYWHERE around me, as it can transmute and lift any lower energies in our auric fields and help us to clear blockages. Meditation with it t can also help us to move around obstacles by clearing the clutter from our minds and helping us vision new pathways. A bonus: selenite never needs to be cleansed itself and can be used to cleanse and charge other crystals. If you don’t already have a piece, selenite is definitely one to add to the collection!

May these messages and lessons resonate with you whenever you connect with them! Ase!
