Let’s connect!

Esu says: Handle that Business Yourself!

Have you ever sent another person to handle something important on your behalf? This week‘s story from tells us how dangerous that can be and why we might do best to handle the critical tasks ourselves.

It tells the story of Shango who wants to learn how to breathe fire and so he asked Esu to make him a medicine that would give him the ability. Esu agreed to make the medicine and Sango said that when he returned to pick it up he and Esu would spend some time together, eat , drink, and kick it.

When the day came to pick it up, Shango was busy so he sent Oya to get it. On the way home, she got curious and tasted the medicine and began to breathe fire!

When Sango arrived home, he was so annoyed that she had the ability before him that he ran back to Esu to complain.

Esu wasn’t tryina hear it though!

He said, “Don’t blame me, you’re the one who sent someone else to handle your business!” Not only that: he also didn’t keep his word to Esu about spending time with him.

Lots of lessons here! First, handle your own business! Especially when it’s important. Once you put your things into someone else’s hands, you’re no longer in control of the situation. No matter who the person is, or how much you trust them, things can still go left.

Another lesson? Keep your word. Had Shango hung with Esu like he promised, none of the wahala would have taken place. Life happens, yes, but we can’t only make time for folks when we need something.

When our friends start to feel used, they might behave in ways we don’t expect—like Esu telling Oya what was in the calabash knowing it would make her curious. Ohhh Esu!

There are more! Tap into our Sunday and Monday replays to catch them all.

Going right along with this, Erykah Badu telling us to take a window seat and chill this week. Make space for relaxation because you can’t dream and envision your next moves while you’re rushing around. Connect with a friend, have a conversation and a cawfee. It might provide just the insight you need

Crystal ally Amber says it’s time to break out of old patterns and do something new! If you want different, you gotta do different. Let Oya work the energy of change into your heart and let the relaxed energy of the week bring new ideas to your brilliant Ori.
